Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 24, 2026

Barbary Coast Marine, Inc. ("Barbary Coast Marine," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website at barbarycoastmarine.com and provides a maritime compliance platform (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy describes the information we collect, how we use and share it, and the steps we take to protect it.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways:

  • Account and contact information. When you sign up or contact us, we collect your name, email address, company name, vessel details, phone number, and job title.
  • Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store your full credit card number or bank account details on our servers. We receive a payment token and limited billing details (name, billing address, last four digits of card) from Stripe to record transactions.
  • Usage and service data. We collect data generated by your use of the platform, including vessel compliance records, maintenance logs, and event data, to deliver and improve the Service.
  • Device and log data. We automatically collect IP addresses, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, pages visited, and timestamps when you interact with our website or platform.
  • Communications. If you contact us by email or through our contact form, we retain those communications.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account and deliver the Service.
  • To process payments and send invoices, receipts, and billing notices.
  • To communicate with you about your account, service updates, and support requests.
  • To generate compliance reports and analytics for your fleet.
  • To detect, investigate, and prevent security incidents and fraudulent activity.
  • To improve, develop, and maintain the platform.
  • To comply with applicable legal obligations.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in the following circumstances:

  • Stripe, Inc. — payment processing. Stripe receives the billing information necessary to complete transactions and is subject to its own Privacy Policy.
  • Infrastructure and hosting providers. We use third-party cloud infrastructure (such as DigitalOcean) to host the platform. These providers process data on our behalf under data processing agreements and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
  • Legal and regulatory requirements. We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or government authority, or when necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Barbary Coast Marine, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers. If Barbary Coast Marine is acquired or merges with another entity, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.

4. Method of Disclosure

All data transmitted between your browser or device and our servers is encrypted using TLS (HTTPS). Payment data is transmitted directly to Stripe over encrypted connections and is never routed through our own servers in unencrypted form. We do not share data with third parties except as described in Section 3, and we do so only through encrypted, authenticated API connections.

5. Data Security

We implement the following security practices to safeguard your information:

  • Encryption in transit via TLS for all web and API traffic.
  • Encryption at rest for databases and file storage.
  • Access controls limiting data access to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis.
  • Payment card data handled exclusively by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS certified.
  • Regular review of third-party service providers for security compliance.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at [email protected].

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at the address below.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Cookies

We use essential session cookies to operate the platform. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
