Prototype Development Roadmap
Timeline: June – November 2025
Barbary Coast Marine is building a next-generation shipboard compliance system integrating Integral Mind’s AI platform, OpenVDM, and maritime communication protocols (NMEA 2000 and SeaTalk). This roadmap outlines our milestones leading up to a real-world test aboard a large cargo vessel on October 12–13, 2025.
---June 2025 — System Integration Planning
- Finalize architecture combining AI, OpenVDM, and marine protocols.
- Specify camera systems and sensor inputs for ingestion pipeline.
- Design AI training plan based on Coast Guard compliance rules.
- Procure onboard server and networking hardware.
July 2025 — Core System Assembly
- Develop AI ingestion from camera and sensor feeds.
- Build connectors for NMEA 2000 and SeaTalk networks.
- Begin training compliance model on regulatory data sets.
- Configure lab-based development server for full-stack testing.
August 2025 — Onboard Setup & Training
- Install server on test vessel; upgrade network infrastructure.
- Connect real-time inputs to OpenVDM and test data flow.
- Verify AI alerts and feedback against regulatory logic.
- Train crew on system use and interface navigation.
September 2025 — Pre-Test Validation
- Perform dockside simulation of system performance.
- Trigger artificial compliance violations to test AI alerts.
- Incorporate expert feedback into system refinements.
- Finalize auto-reporting and data archival structure.
October 12–13, 2025 — Live At-Sea Test
- Conduct full underway field test aboard cargo vessel.
- Record live sensor and camera data with AI analysis.
- Validate real-time compliance reporting and logging.
- Gather crew feedback on functionality and usability.
November 2025 — Post-Test Iteration & Scale-Up
- Analyze performance data and system logs.
- Optimize model and infrastructure for deployment.
- Define roadmap for pilot expansion to additional vessels.
- Deliver partner and investor updates post-successful test.
